Full Moon

Okay, so it was MOSTLY full when I took the picture.

~

It was nice again this evening, so I thought I'd go outside and take some more pictures. I wanted to practice on a camera my grandma sent me. I pulled it out of the bag and turned it on. The battery was almost dead. Crap.

There was a spare battery nestled in the charger (which was in the bag, not plugged in). I swapped them. That battery was totally dead. Shoot!

I stuck the nearly dead battery in the charger and plugged it in, willing it to charge as fast as it could. I pulled out my trusty ol' sidekick of a Sony Cybershot and saw that the battery was missing. Holy cow! What's going on, here?!? I found it in the charger (not plugged in) in my bedroom. I stuck it in the camera and turned it on.

It made the happy turning on sound and the lens opened up, like it's supposed to. But then, the lens kept adjusting and readjusting before my camera flashed a message telling me to turn it off and back on again. I did. Same thing. I did again. Same thing. Four times later, I was growling incoherently at my sidekick. I peeked out the window. The sun was going down.

I grabbed the charging battery and shoved it in the camera, hoping it could hang in there for just a little bit. I snagged the wide lens, threw on my coat and started down the stairs only to bump into my roommate who was bringing back some groceries. She tossed her milk in the fridge and grabbed her two cameras and we both made our way out to the bluff, taking pretty pictures in her case and experimenting with a different camera in mine.

We got back to our apartment and my sidekick finally decided to work (go figure). I pulled out my laptop and fiddled with the other camera until I found where the memory card was hidden. I pulled it out.

It's ginormous.

I don't have (yet) anything to hook up the camera to my computer. I flipped through the pictures, and I think some of them turned out okay. It's hard to tell, though. I'll just keep experimenting and maybe stop at Walgreens or Walmart tomorrow if I have time, and see if they have something that'll fit.

In the meantime, I still have a small archive of pictures I'm tapping into for fun.
An I'm going to keep my batteries charged, dang it!
