I love summer. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I live in a small town where I don't have to worry about traffic or smog or anything like that. There's a field near my house that I started to cross the other day to check out a pretty place beyond it my mom had shown me once before. I got about dead center in the field when I spun around and decided to park it. I kicked off my shoes, flopped on my back, and played Jack Johnson softly enough that I could still hear the birdies and cicadas. I faced the sun and just let it beat on me. It was fantastic!
Oh! Wonderful, fantastic, glorious sunshine!
I totally got sunburned on my cheeks, but it wasn't too bad.
Sunny, sunny, sunshine!
I'm not sure why I even bothered wearing shoes. I wore them for the two minutes it took to get out there and never put them back on again.
That's all, folks!
