Astro-Disaster

I had a dream last night that I was in what, for all intents and purposes as far as dreams go, was a space station orbiting Earth. You see, it all started with a woman politician.

There was a meeting of important political people and they were all voting on numerous things. Vague, I know. If my conscious self spaces out (pun intended!) on politics, my sub-conscious doesn't stand a chance. Or maybe it's the other way around...

Anyway, one of the political leaders was a very evil man but not many people were aware of that fact. He presented a very good face to the public. This woman, however, knew that he was evil, so during the call for topics to be voted on, she pulled a very clever trick. She suggested a topic (I don't know what) that seemed innocent enough but worded it in such a way that she laid a trap for Darth Politicus. She knew it would sound very appealing to him and that he would vote in its favor. However, her wording was such that it sounded terrible to everyone else.

When Darth Politicus and all the politicians in his pocket who followed his lead voted Yea, he showed his true colors. The rest of the politicians, from all over the world, were horrified and unanimously voted him out of office.

Because this woman was so clever, she was elected to perform some sort of important task on the space station with two astronauts.

I'm not sure why I was there. Perhaps I was the court jester. Regardless, Calamity Jane strikes even in my dreams. As the woman and the astronauts were engrossed in a very difficult environmental/political/math/science-y problem, I was contemplating a piece of tupperware.

The astronauts had brought a little bit of Earth with them in the tupperware - a patch of dirt and grass. I tried to be helpful and water the grass but I accidentally flooded it.

It occurs to me now that in space the water ought to have bubbled around in the air and I might have been spared ruining a sentimental piece of home. I spent the rest of my dream trying to be inconspicuous about remedying the disaster.

Floating around and seeing the stars was pretty dang cool. I'm kind of jealous of my dream-self.
